HERE'S WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME:

I was first attracted to photography when an uncle gave me my first dark room equipment at the age of nine. I went to high school in Jackson, Mississippi after which I attended the University of Alabama.  In 1965 I entered Naval Flight Training in Pensacola, Florida.  After earning my wings, I moved to San Diego California and flew the F-8 Crusader, a single seat, supersonic, fighter aircraft. I flew 153 combat missions over North Vietnam and received the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism in combat.  I also attended Navy Fighter Weapons School, better known as “Top Gun”.  Later I became a Captain with Trans World Airlines.  All the while I steadfastly maintained my keen interest in photography. Ching, my wife of 36 years, is a popular artist.

My photographic interests are largely concentrated in the area of wildlife and landscapes.  After years of wet processing in a conventional darkroom, I am enamored with the versatility and convenience of my digital darkroom.  No longer constrained by the limitations of wet photo processing, I am free to make my own large format prints as well as gicleé reproductions of Ching’s paintings.  As a result, I can manage and control every aspect of creating an image, from the moment the scene is captured until it is printed on archival quality paper.  I have numerous magazine credits including several cover shots for Southwind Magazine.  Most recently I was commissioned by the Walter Anderson Museum of Art, in Ocean Springs, Mississippi to photograph and catalog the Mac Anderson painting and pottery exhibit as well as their 2009 Shearwater Pottery Calendar.

My photographs are offered for sale through: Theresa's Gallery, 1060 Government Street, Ocean Springs, MS 39564 (228) 875-0304
